 MISSION POSSIBLE UPDATES! Minimize

Be sure to check out the individual pages for Camp Seminole and Camp Sawyer. Both properties are moving forward as support allows. We will do our best to get our Scouts back to camping as soon as possible.

Mission Possible is a volunteer and community effort designed to finance the needed capital projects of the South Florida Council. The campaign runs through 2010 and specifically identifies $12-million in new construction projects to rebuild Camp Seminole and Camp Sawyer following the devastation caused by Hurricane Wilma in October of 2005. Mission Possible is one of the most significant endeavors in our council’s history. Camp Seminole has been closed since the storm and it’s critical we get our “kids back to camping”. The SFC has worked with a professional team of architects, engineers and planners to create a Comprehensive Master Development Plan that addresses our facility needs for Scouting’s next generation.

If you have any leads on individuals, companies, or foundations that would consider an investment for the camp redevelopment, please contact Jeff Hunt, Jeff Berger, or Joshua Christ at the council office and we will meet with you to discuss naming opportunities and other ways to help rebuild. Our mission remains to open our camps as soon as possible. Boy Scout Office Phone: (305) 364-0020.
